Here is the second post in my cleaning methods series: 5 easy steps to keeping your house clean in 45 minutes a day or less. Enjoy!
Step 1
Each morning, unload your dishwasher, put away clean dishes and refill soap container. This will free up your washer for dirty dishes throughout the day, which can be rinsed and stacked in the dishwasher immediately after use, taking almost no time at all.
Step 2
After each meal, take 5-10 minutes to lightly pick up your whole house - NO DEEP CLEANING!
Step 3
Before you go to bed, take 15 minutes to straighten up the whole house one last time. Wipe down counters, bathrooms, sweep/vacuum and spot mop floors only as needed. If it doesn’t need it, don’t do it!
Step 4
Start Dishwasher.
Step 5
Choose ONE day per week as laundry and deep cleaning day. Do ALL your laundry on that day, making sure that it gets folded and put away properly by the end of the day. For my family of four, I find that I can do all our laundry in four loads: whites, towels, bedding and darks. Try it!
Use the following Deep Cleaning Checklist for your cleaning day:
Wipe down bathrooms, clean toilets, showers/tubs and mirrors.
Sweep and mop hard floors.
Dust and vacuum whole house.
Clean upholstery.
Strip beds and wash bedding.
