A few nights ago, I had a group of women in my home of all different ages, backgrounds & situation in life &, though we share some differences of belief, we found that on at least one of the touchiest subjects of our day, we are all of one mind. Afterward, a friend posted her feelings on the issue in her blog, which were stirring and sincere, & this not being the first time my thoughts had been turned in this direction, I decided it was high time that I, too, put my feelings into writing. I will preface this post with a disclaimer: the subject is one that is controversial and may or may not be appropriate for your children (depending upon their ages and your parental prerogative). I will also state that I write only as a fearful mother, an outraged citizen of the United States of America & a stalwart believer of God & His eternal plan of happiness. I am not a politician and hold no sway in government, save it be for my own personal vote.
Many opposing voices on this subject have stirred our country into a virtual mud pit & begun slinging it around, according to their whim, regardless of the social consequences, & in some cases even reveling in the repercussions. That mud is now threatening to ooze through the cracks around the windows & doors of our homes and churches, befouling our precious families and faiths, if we are not constantly vigilant in our efforts to clean up the mess that has already spread and proactively calk out & disinfect against further destructive attempts. I am speaking of gay marriage & its evil affect on the sacred institution of marriage, as set down by God Himself.
While I fully believe most are good, honest human beings who live otherwise moral lives, who love their families and are loyal to their partners, I am firmly confident that those who choose homosexuality have been misguided by the adversary into a lifestyle which is completely contrary to the knowledge of God & His plan for His children here on the earth. I do not believe that this is a civil rights issue to be settled, or even entered into, by government. Nor do I believe it to be an excuse for discrimination or persecution on either side. It is simply a sin, to be abhorred and reviled in, & of itself, while leaving the person to be loved back into repentance & righteous living.
I do not, & will not, teach prejudice in my home. However, I will teach my children that they need not, & should not, tolerate sin in the least degree. I will educate them in correct principles of love, courtesy and politeness, & allow them to govern themselves. In a world of eroding values & corrupted sense of right & wrong, they will learn to stand upright and strong in holy places, firm & steadfast in the face of very real dangers to our society as a whole. As a family, as well as individually, we will be active in our political scene, so as to safeguard against further corruption in our government. Finally, I refuse to tolerate any individual or group who attempts to indoctrinate my precious offspring in any way that is contrary to the truths of God & will do everything in my power to protect them from the same.
Do not be ignorant of our reality. We are at war & if we sit idly by, make no mistake, the enemy will win. We have been born to privilege & with that comes specific obligations: namely, to stand as witnesses of God at all times, & in all things, & in all places.

I can't remember where it is, but somewhere- in some scripture it says that polygamy will be practiced again before the second coming...maybe this is what gets the ball rolling on that prophesy-hahaha.
Huh? Forgive me, but I'm not understanding what polygamy has to do with the post? Maybe it's just late, but I just don't get it... sorry!
I was thinking of something, and meant to be kind of funny...
If 2 guys can marry, then why not 3 or 4 guys (since 2 would be plural) or 2 ladies and a guy... Maybe this law about gay marriage will get things moving along until all forms of marriage are acceptable, and then this particular prophesy would be fulfilled. It's a stretch, but again, it was supposed to be funny.
Haha! Don't mean to burst your bubble, but I think that scripture was speaking specifically about the Church. And, when you think about it, plural marriage has already been practiced again before the second coming. :)
